Gas Certification Institute (GCI)

  • GCI - Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement

    Nov 5 - 7, (ET)
Virtually all hydrocarbons are bought and sold by volume; however, variations in component content and shrinkage due to molecular variation make it impossible to measure NGLs by volume. Measuring NGLs by mass, and subsequently calculating component volumes, demands accuracy and intimate knowledge of the processes involved. Learn the basics of properly measuring liquid to help your company control loss. Included is a brief history of flow measurement technology, various methods of liquid flow measurement currently in use, what can affect measurement accuracy and repeatability, and what to consider when selecting flow instrumentation for a particular application. By attending this instructor-led course, participants can return to their jobs and immediately apply the knowledge gained. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. #GCI

  • GCI - Advanced Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement

    Nov 12 - 14, (ET)
For participants who have completed our Fundamentals of Liquid Measurement course or for personnel who need to expand their on-the-job knowledge, this training provides a greater understanding of balance relationships through a combination of reviewing fundamental theories and examination of real-world case studies of volume and mass systems. Participants are given a factual case of measurement imbalance with supporting data to perform an investigative analysis and a systematic recommendation to resolve the imbalance and then to present their findings. By attending this instructor-led course, participants can return to their jobs and immediately apply the knowledge gained. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. #GCI

  • Introduction to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)

    Feb 12 - Dec 12, (ET)
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has gained increasing attention over the past few years, with many institutional investors investing only in those companies that provide ESG performance reporting.  An introduction to Environmental, Social and Governance for the natural gas industry provides an overview of an ESG framework and how it supports a company’s overall risk management. We will look at each component in detail and deliver insight into how those components converge to impact a company and its stakeholders. Whether you’re in distribution, transmission, marketing, E&P or a supplier you will no doubt be faced with a growing interest in ESG and how it informs you or your company’s decision-making.  The intention of this course is to prepare you with the foundational knowledge needed to respond effectively and help you understand how the stakeholders are using ESG information to conduct due diligence and make investment decisions. Attendees will receive  2 Professional Development Hours (PDH)   and   Level 1 Natural Gas Industry ESG Professional Credly badge   upon completion. #SGA
