API RP-1173 (Pipeline Safety Management Systems, PSMS) calls for pipeline operators to complete assessments of their safety culture. As a result, many operators and contractors already complete safety surveys, but often these focus on occupational safety rather than safety culture, which includes management systems, controls to address significant hazard risks, and asset safety. Successfully completing a Pipeline Safety Culture Assessment can be complicated and time-consuming. In response to API RP-1173, Energy Worldnet, Inc. has developed a proprietary Pipeline Safety Culture Assessment Process. This training will introduce you to this process by explaining the three components needed to effectively assess your safety culture and demonstrate the essential outputs necessary to implement actionable safety culture solutions as envisioned by RP-1173.
